Summer is a time for adventure, exploration, and making memories. At Granada Day School, we believe it can also be a time for children to continue learning, building friendships, and growing in their faith. That’s why we are excited to welcome children to Leap Ahead Summer Camp, running from June 15 through July 31.
Designed for children entering Pre-K 2 through first grade, Leap Ahead Summer Camp provides a fun, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where children can stay active, curious, and connected throughout the summer months.
A Summer Filled with Fun and Purpose
At Granada Day School, we know that young children learn best through hands-on experiences, exploration, and play. Our summer camp program combines all of these elements to create meaningful opportunities for growth while ensuring children have plenty of fun along the way.
Each day is thoughtfully planned with age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, movement, and social development. Campers participate in a variety of experiences designed to keep them engaged and excited, from arts and crafts projects to STEM activities, outdoor play, water days, and special themed programs.
Children will also enjoy opportunities to build friendships, practice teamwork, and develop confidence as they explore new activities and experiences throughout the summer.
Growing Hearts and Minds for Jesus
What makes Leap Ahead Summer Camp unique is its connection to the mission of Granada Day School.
Our mission is simple: We Grow Hearts and Minds for Jesus.
Throughout the summer, children are encouraged to grow not only academically and socially, but spiritually as well. Bible stories, faith-based lessons, and weekly chapel help children learn about God’s love while reinforcing values such as kindness, gratitude, compassion, and respect.
By combining Biblical teaching with enriching summer experiences, we create an environment where children can continue developing strong character and a solid foundation of faith.
Why Summer Engagement Matters
While summer provides a much-needed break from the regular school year, it is also important for young children to remain active and engaged.
Research consistently shows that children benefit from continued learning opportunities during the summer months. Activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, social interaction, and physical movement help children maintain important developmental skills and ease the transition back into the classroom when school begins again.
At Leap Ahead Summer Camp, children participate in meaningful activities that support social, emotional, academic, and spiritual growth while still enjoying the excitement and freedom of summer.
Rather than spending long hours in front of screens, campers stay engaged through hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity and encourage exploration.
A Safe and Nurturing Environment
Choosing a summer program is an important decision for families. Parents want to know their children will be safe, cared for, and supported while having fun.
At Granada Day School, creating a nurturing environment has been at the heart of what we do for more than 70 years.
Our experienced staff understands the unique needs of young children and works to ensure every camper feels welcomed, valued, and included. Whether a child is currently enrolled at Granada Day School or joining us for the first time, our goal is to help every camper feel comfortable, confident, and excited to participate.
Families can feel confident knowing their children are spending the summer in a caring Christian environment where safety, encouragement, and personal growth remain priorities.
Creating Lasting Summer Memories
Some of the most meaningful childhood memories are made during the summer.
From laughing with friends during water days to creating artwork, participating in hands-on projects, exploring new interests, and enjoying special activities, campers have countless opportunities to make memories that last long after summer ends.
Our goal is to create experiences that children look forward to each day while helping them develop skills and friendships that will continue into the school year.
By the end of the summer, campers leave with more than just fun memories. They leave with increased confidence, stronger social skills, new friendships, and a continued love of learning.
