Education Excellence and Accreditation
Dedicated Teaching Staff:
We believe that the strength of our program is in the dedication of our teaching staff. Our highly certified staff views education as a partnership between parents and teachers. We believe it is essential to develop a good rapport with each child and parent based on open communication and mutual respect. Granada Day School is the perfect place for your precious child to grow, learn, discover, and be loved.
Certified Teachers:
At Granada Day school our teachers and staff are committed Christians trained in early childhood education. Teachers are certified or are working toward certification in early childhood AS degrees, four year degrees in education or related fields. The staff is required to obtain 45 hours Department of Children and Families (formerly HRS) certification. Teachers and staff must also maintain at least 30 hours of additional instruction annually.
Research-Based Curriculum
At Granada Day School, we utilize the Creative Curriculum and Wee Learn Curriculum to provide children with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support the whole child. Both curricula are developmentally appropriate and play-based, encouraging children to learn through exploration, discovery, and meaningful experiences.
Together, these curricula support language and literacy, mathematics, science, social-emotional development, physical development, and creative expression while aligning with the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards Birth to Kindergarten. In addition, the Wee Learn Curriculum includes a unique spiritual domain that helps children develop Biblical knowledge, Christian values, and strong character.
Teachers use the curriculum as a guide for lesson planning, assessment, and individualized instruction to support each child’s growth and success.
Accreditation:
Granada Day School (GDS) is accredited by the Christian Schools of Florida (CSF) and by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) and Gold Seal accredited by Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS). These accrediting agencies are highly recognized and authorized by the state Department of Education. Granada Day School is subject to renewal of accreditation every five years, and our faculty is required to complete a self-study for each renewal. GDS is a Quality Counts provider.
