Thanksgiving week is always a special time at Granada Day School. From November 17 through November 20, our classrooms will be filled with joy, gratitude, and the sweet reminder that every good gift comes from God.
This year, our students and teachers will gather for simple and meaningful Thanksgiving celebrations that reflect our heart as a school. We want every child to feel loved, included, and connected as we thank God for His blessings and enjoy time together as a school family.
A Celebration of Gratitude
Each classroom will host its own Thanksgiving meal where students can sit together, pray, and enjoy food provided by our wonderful parents. These moments help children experience community in an age-appropriate way. They learn to slow down, share, show kindness, and recognize the many gifts God has given.
Teachers will also guide students through a small Thanksgiving project. Whether it is a handprint turkey, a placemat, or a gratitude craft, each keepsake becomes a reminder of the celebration and a sweet treasure for families to enjoy at home.

Parents Play a Special Role
Our classroom celebrations would not be the same without the generosity of our GDS parents. Families can sign up to bring items for the shared meal, helping create a warm and festive atmosphere for our students.
Teachers will also share photos on the ProCare App or by email so families can enjoy a window into the day. These snapshots help parents feel part of the celebration even when they cannot be in the classroom.
Why These Moments Matter
Thanksgiving celebrations are more than a fun activity. They help our students experience what it means to be part of a loving, Christ-centered community.
Children learn that gratitude is more than saying thank you. It is recognizing God’s goodness in everyday moments, in friendships, and in the joy of learning together. These early experiences shape hearts, build confidence, and strengthen the sense of belonging that is so important in the preschool years.
These celebrations also connect directly to the mission of Granada Day School. Everything we do is designed to grow hearts and minds for Jesus. Moments of prayer, togetherness, and thankfulness help our students live out this mission in ways that feel natural and meaningful.
A Week Filled With Joy
We are excited for a beautiful week of celebration. Our prayer is that every child feels blessed, every teacher feels encouraged, and every parent feels valued as an important part of our school family.
Thank you for partnering with us and for helping create the warm, loving environment that makes GDS such a special place. We are grateful for you, and we pray your Thanksgiving season is filled with joy and God’s goodness.
