Celebrating Community and Gratitude at GDS

Thanksgiving season is here, and we are getting ready for one of our favorite community traditions. Granada Day School families are invited to join our church family for the annual Thanksgiving Tradish celebration on November 16, right after the 11 am service. This special day brings our students, parents, teachers, and church community together for food, fun, and a time of gratitude on the front lawn.

Why This Annual Event Matters for Our School Community

At Granada Day School, we believe children grow best when they are surrounded by a strong, joyful community. Events like Thanksgiving Tradish support our mission to partner with families and create a warm environment where children feel known and loved. Parents often ask what age to start preschool, and one of the biggest benefits of choosing a program like ours is the strong sense of belonging. Children learn through routine, relationships, and shared experiences, and family events help build those foundations.

For many families deciding what is pre-kindergarten or whether kids have to go to preschool, moments like this show what makes early childhood education meaningful. Children see grown-ups coming together, giving thanks, and enjoying time as a family. These shared experiences support social and emotional development, confidence, and connection. They also build memories that help children feel rooted in a safe and loving environment.

A Day of Fun, Food, and Family Time

Families can look forward to:

  • A delicious Thanksgiving meal
  • Bounce houses and lawn games
  • Live music and a family photo area
  • Time spent with friends, teachers, and classmates

There will be opportunities to connect with fellow parents and meet new families. We see students light up when they see their friends outside the classroom, and it reminds us why building community matters for young learners.

We Are Thankful for Our Families

Our school exists to serve families and support children through the early years, whether you are starting preschool for the first time or preparing for kindergarten next year. We know choosing a school is an important decision, and cost, schedule, and program structure matter. Families often wonder how much preschool costs or whether pre-K is free, and we are here to walk with you and explain your options every step of the way.

Most of all, we are grateful for the trust you place in us and for the opportunity to partner with you in your child’s growth and development. We look forward to celebrating gratitude, fellowship, and the gift of community together.

See you on the lawn this Sunday!
