What Do Preschoolers Learn in Art Class? Our Friday Enrichment Has the Answer

At Granada Day School, we know preschoolers learn best when they’re hands-on, curious, and engaged. That’s exactly what they experience during our K.E. Art for Kids enrichment program. This weekly class is designed for children ages 3 to 6 who are fully potty-trained and currently enrolled in our summer camp.

What Preschoolers Learn in Art Class

Each session introduces a new theme inspired by modern or historical art. Teachers begin with a short, age-appropriate discussion. From there, children explore the topic through hands-on projects using paint, collage, drawing tools, and other creative materials.

Here’s what students gain:

  • Improved fine motor skills
  • Stronger focus and attention span
  • Opportunities for creative thinking
  • Confidence in expressing themselves
  • A finished piece of original artwork to take home

It’s not about perfection. It’s about giving young children the tools and encouragement to explore, try something new, and be proud of what they create.

Fun and Educational Art Class Enrichment

Why Families Love Art Enrichment Class

Parents often share how much they appreciate this Friday afternoon option. It fits smoothly into family routines and offers a fun, educational way to wrap up the week. Children stay engaged after the regular school day ends, and they come home excited to show what they’ve made.

One of the things families love most is the meaningful nature of the projects. Instead of filling in worksheets or coloring inside lines, children are learning about real artists, practicing new techniques, and expressing their own ideas.

Why Art Matters to Granada Day School

We believe art plays a big role in early childhood development. When children create, they build not only skills but also confidence. They learn to take risks, make choices, and see beauty in their own ideas.

This enrichment also supports what preschoolers are already learning in the classroom—how to focus, share materials, follow steps, and take pride in their work.

Programs like K.E. Art for Kids reflect our mission to nurture the whole child through faith, imagination, and play.

Join Us While Spots Are Open

There are still five sessions left, and registration is open until all spots are filled. If your child loves to create or is just discovering art for the first time, this is a wonderful way to end the week.

We look forward to seeing what our young artists will create next.
