At Granada Day School, learning doesn’t stop for summer. It simply moves in new ways. This season, our partnership with JM Dance Studio is giving children in preschool and elementary the chance to explore creativity, movement, and self-expression right on campus. It’s a joyful way for students to grow in confidence, coordination, and social connection.
Summer Dance Program Details
- Who Can Join: Fully potty-trained boys and girls in PK3 through elementary who are currently enrolled in our summer camp
- When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00 to 1:45 PM
- Where: On-site at Granada Day School
- Cost: $20 registration fee plus $40 per week
- Session Dates:
- Week 1: June 17 and 19
- Week 2: June 24 and 26
- Week 3: July 1 and 3
- Week 4: July 8 and 10
- Week 5: July 15 and 17
- Week 6: July 22 and 24
- Week 7: July 29 and 31
Registration is open until spots are filled. Families are encouraged to register early to secure a space.
What Preschoolers Learn Through Dance
You may wonder what a preschooler actually learns in a dance class. At this age, children are developing the same skills in movement as they are in the classroom. Dance helps them improve focus, follow directions, build coordination, and express emotions in healthy ways.
Each class includes:
- Warm-ups to prepare their bodies
- Rhythm and listening exercises
- Creative movement prompts
- Age-appropriate choreography
Children are encouraged to try new things in a supportive and playful environment. The structure is balanced with freedom, which helps them gain confidence while having fun.
