From Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16, GDS will host Teacher Appreciation Week—a heartfelt, campus-wide celebration to honor the educators who pour into our children every single day. More than just a tradition, this week is a living expression of our mission: to grow hearts and minds for Jesus.
Throughout the week, families will join in themed appreciation days like Spa Day, Wellness Day, and receive notes from families. Students will decorate a Gratitude Wall with their own drawings and thank-you notes, and parents will provide treats for a special Teacher Luncheon, complete with awards and words of affirmation. Teachers will also be featured daily on our Instagram, showcasing the passion and purpose behind their calling.
But this week isn’t just about celebration—it’s a vital part of community formation and mission fulfillment. When families take the time to encourage and support educators, a culture of honor and unity grows. It reinforces to our staff that their investment is making an eternal impact and affirms to our families—current and prospective—that their children are in deeply caring, capable hands.
Our teachers are the heart of our school, and during Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to make that message loud and clear.
To every family at GDS, we invite you to take part in the joy:
- Join each day’s appreciation theme. Write a note, send a small gift, or encourage your child to participate in the Gratitude Wall.
- Engage with our social media. Like, comment, and share our featured teacher stories to help us spread the love. Our IG handle is @granadadayschool
- Send a short message of appreciation. Whether shared publicly or privately, your words matter.
As we grow hearts and minds for Jesus, let’s take time to honor the faithful stewards of that mission—our teachers. They are helping shape the next generation of Christ-followers and that is always worth celebrating.
